For many girls and women, period pain can be a real problem having a serious impact on their quality of life.Period pain (dysmenorrhea) is caused by cramps of the uterus. Treatment commonly consists of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs designed to reduce the activity of the uterine muscle.
