Holton formed The Heavy Metal Kids in 1974, his energetic performances as frontman were full of attitude and made him something of a rock icon.andamp;nbsp;His time with the band was short as he was sacked in 1975 for excessive drinking and outrageous behaviour. He briefly fronted The Damned on a Scottish tour as Dane Vanian was unwell. Holton is most famous for his acting work. He was a member of the RSC as a young man and after his music career began to fade, he went back to acting. He had a few minor roles (Minder, Quadrophenia) before landing his main role that would be the highlight of his career - as Wayne Winston Norris in Auf Wiedersehn Pet, which at its height commanded 14 million viewers.
